This task force is focused on the following :
1) Prioritize and analyze the Application use cases important for India. Work done by TSDSI and by TEC are used as a baseline
2) Study the gaps and Standardization opportunities in Application Layer Standards in India (e.g. TSDSI, TEC) and globally (e.g. ITU, 3GPP, oneM2M, IEEE, IETF).
3) Support and facilitate ecosystem for 5G Application related requirements & challenges
(i) Analyze and develop a landscape of requirements for India specific Application use cases
(ii) Planning for standardizing India specific requirements with local and global SDOs.
(iii) Establishing action plan for the Adoption of Application Layer Standards in India
(iv) Propose an ecosystem for large scale Application pilots and to facilitate and provide guidance for piloting these applications in proposed 5G test bed
(v) Recommend an action plan for the Adoption of Application Layer Standards in India
a. Deliverables (standards documents, test and certification guidelines, regulation and governance guidelines)
b. Activities required (e.g. setting up of the capabilities and ecosystem, process steps like pre-standardization activities, research, innovation sandbox, test and interoperability labs, pool of experts)
c. Entities required (existing entities in Government, Academia, Industry and Standards bodies)
d. Indicative timelines, budgets, source of funds
This Task Force is responsible for:
(i) Liaising with Government Ministries, Industry, Startups and other task forces for prioritization of application verticals, capturing requirements, piloting and standardization.
(ii) Liaising with the Standardization and related bodies in India which will be working on Application Layer standardization.
(iii) Creating and leading the work groups for piloting the use cases in accordance to the White Paper.
(iv) Defining effective collaboration framework for communication among different stake holders. The chairs can invite more members and participants to join the task force.
